About laboratory

The laboratory of comparative genetics of animals exists since 1930; it has been organized by Yanis  Yanovich Luz as group in structure of Laboratory of genetics AS of  the USSR, and since 1934 under different names entered as laboratory in the Institute of genetics of the USSR which director till 1940 N.N.Vavilov was.Y.Y.Lus headed laboratory in 1934-1941. His doctorant H.F.Kushner was managing laboratory in structure IG AS of the USSR, and since 1966 till 1976 - IGG AS of  theUSSR. Since 1987 laboratory became managing professor Ilya Artem'evich Zaharov.  

The Basic scientific directions - studying of polymorphism of DNA, morphological and albuminous polymorphism at agricultural animals in connection with problems of preservation and use of genetic resources; studying of polymorphism in populations of insects and interactions of insects with symbiotic bacteria.

Within the framework of laboratory under I.A.Zaharova's management the scientific school is organized.
